<section id="H9413BEED79BD43B887756F21FB24D702" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Defending Women in the Workplace Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H78BA489495C74746905AB8E75F4C9DCC" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Rule of construction</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">For purposes of title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2000e">42 U.S.C. 2000e et seq.</external-xref>), the terms <quote>because of sex</quote> and <quote>on the basis of sex</quote> do not include because of or on the basis of gender identity.</text></section>
