<section id="H353E103BE0E84B968E99AA7B9CBBCEF1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Ten-year statute of limitations for export control violations</header> <text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1760 of the Export Control Reform Act of 2018 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/4819">50 U.S.C. 4819</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block id="HCAD0147AB5E14E30919502F3A681F21E" style="OLC"> <subsection id="H6EAB7FC6C95E47D68252541E34013DEC"><enum>(g)</enum><header>Statute of limitations</header> <paragraph id="H6FADE5DE1A53479896E24AD0BE5F1690"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Time for commencing proceedings</header> <subparagraph id="HA5EF3ED846E94AAFBEAF7917A39F9C81"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In general</header><text>An action, suit, or proceeding for the enforcement of any civil fine, penalty, or forfeiture, pecuniary or otherwise, under this section shall not be entertained if commenced later than 10 years after the date of the violation upon which the civil fine, penalty, or forfeiture is based.</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HE85E73D9ECB74C7098305C6E711DA647"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Commencement</header><text>For purposes of this paragraph, the commencement of an action, suit, or proceeding includes the issuance of a charging letter.</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H7DACE69950B14E569878165D2771034A"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Time for indictment</header><text>No person shall be prosecuted, tried, or punished for any offense under subsection (a) unless the indictment is found or the information is instituted within 10 years after the latest date of the violation upon which the indictment or information is based.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
