<section id="HD5E7D42FD6194C25AADABDA49834539D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Termination of All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office</header> 
<subsection id="H70C5618808DD421F9C6CE1585593A5C9"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Termination</header> 
<paragraph id="H952FF2E04DA04794BB2BA0CCDB93B977" commented="no"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Requirement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall—</text> <subparagraph id="HFFD6FAFC2EBC48D9BE4DBDE98A27809F"><enum>(A)</enum><text>terminate the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H4A34F61E1D4B4C69BB7C544E7E6E7035"><enum>(B)</enum><text>transfer the functions of the Office to other elements of the Department of Defense as the Secretary determines appropriate.</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H3673AD83C0BE4A1D994ED8B298A9FC7B"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary may not establish within the Department of Defense, and the Director of National Intelligence may not establish within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, a single office or other entity similar to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office that exercises comprehensive or centralized authority over matters relating to unidentified anomalous phenomena.</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HE518B6963A73418782C9B6D2251C69B9"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Repeal</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1683 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/3373">50 U.S.C. 3373</external-xref>) is repealed.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="HACD64705A63342219C5267FB611AB4AA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendments</header> <paragraph id="H17C7AEC578D9427E9DBDE0CA3DAF7743"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Accounting of security classification guides</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1673 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/119/60">Public Law 119–60</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/3373">50 U.S.C. 3373</external-xref> note) is repealed.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H2E7A658DCDAB47A1B473D2BB5307280B"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Records</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1673 of the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/3373b">50 U.S.C. 3373b</external-xref>) is amended—</text> <subparagraph id="H82DE138012F04BC0B91EC7117A9BF3F5"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subsection (a), by striking <quote>acting through the head of the Office and</quote> each place it appears; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HD606CA25651E45D6A7F2F483BA8A693F"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subsection (b)(3)—</text> <clause id="H01511296F9734104B19A6410363BDA1D"><enum>(i)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>the Office</quote> and inserting <quote>the Secretary</quote>; and</text></clause> 
<clause id="HF67DEC644D614892BC30751C0561B157"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking <quote>The head of the Office</quote> and inserting <quote>The Secretary</quote>; and</text></clause> </subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H88AC18F57368443882DE849A2160578C"><enum>(C)</enum><text>in subsection (d), by striking paragraph (6).</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H43BF90CC0A9E4B7EB005FD8F93CBEC9C"><enum>(3)</enum><header>National Archives</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1842(c) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/118/31">Public Law 118–31</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/44/2107">44 U.S.C. 2107</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> <subparagraph id="H3DA65D8239024BA489D3EC51D592BF34"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>, including the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office,</quote> each place it appears; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HFBFBF88D58474989803A483A4DBA4555"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in paragraph (3), by striking <quote>the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office</quote> and inserting <quote>the Secretary of Defense</quote>.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="HFD0853680DB441EE9BBC5D1AA437D0C2" commented="no"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall take effect 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H6571463A28EF4CA8BD376A564AE1943C"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text> <paragraph id="H8B48A1F4711646CDA4DCBB7BFBACE34D"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>transmedium objects or devices</term> means objects or devices that are—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H2906E357CC7149F2B4BE08265AE0E072"><enum>(A)</enum><text>observed to transition between space and the atmosphere, or between the atmosphere and bodies of water; and </text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H4EE72C5577D742809C6C4EA7FEADCD6E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>not immediately identifiable.</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H53840898B4D24589AA4C9A9FA09B242E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The term <term>unidentified anomalous phenomena</term> means—</text> <subparagraph id="HC11CE267E280453EBC4366D6D9A7C8D8"><enum>(A)</enum><text>airborne objects that are not immediately identifiable;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HD82C96C4A37141769767731F7C2FFD6B"><enum>(B)</enum><text>transmedium objects or devices; and</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H9E3F8EE5917949DBAA165A60750685BE"><enum>(C)</enum><text>submerged objects or devices that are not immediately identifiable and that display behavior or performance characteristics suggesting that the objects or devices may be related to the objects described in subparagraph (A).</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section>
