<section id="HA83D5DBF8ED948249D0E583490627F45" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Agent Orange Service Medal Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H5CE08FC61D15409FA81E59A1D7DAAF65"><enum>2.</enum><header>Establishment of the Agent Orange Veterans Service Medal</header> <subsection id="HDACCFFA71D694CA9AC11341DC457490C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Service medal required</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Defense shall design and produce a commemorative military service medal, to be known as the <quote>Agent Orange Veterans Service Medal</quote>, to honor a veteran who—</text> 
<paragraph id="H7902F0B538F84994A1C6184973884444"><enum>(1)</enum><text>receives compensation under section 1116, 1116A, or 1116B of title 38, United States Code; or</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H59C19BBA485749E39A1D4CF8FC72B6AC"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">is a Vietnam-era herbicide-exposed veteran, as such term is defined in section 1710(e) of such title.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H0E553E33992A4F67B7CE443952A40BA8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Distribution of medal</header> 
<paragraph id="HEB0A46B5CBAA4861B50D0770EE177C1F"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Issuance to certain veterans</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">At the request of an individual whom the Secretary of Veterans Affairs certifies is a veteran described in subsection (a), the Secretary of Defense shall issue to the veteran the Agent Orange Veterans Service Medal.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H8B4464F8BB724E3BBF2CDFCDD032AC3D"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Issuance to next-of-kin</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In the case of a veteran described in subsection (a) who is deceased, the Secretary of Defense may provide for issuance of the Agent Orange Veterans Service Medal to the next-of-kin of the veteran.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HE19DAE131159489B842A002CE804B1FD"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Application</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall prepare and disseminate as appropriate an application by which veterans described in subsection (a) and their next-of-kin may apply to receive the Agent Orange Veterans Service Medal.</text></paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
