<section id="H0ED10FC55D524B5BA7297A2DDF1EFE7C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Gynecologic Pain Management Study Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="HE23A488187294CEE8A8F5E41BF77BAAB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Study on barriers to pain management methods during gynecologic procedures</header> <subsection id="H76E42FE441A345AB9A63425934D63F51"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall conduct a comprehensive study to assess barriers to health care providers offering, and patients accessing, pain management methods during gynecologic procedures (such as whether lack of access is related to insurance coverage, training, or resources issues). Such study shall include a review of current literature and, if necessary, new research.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H11506E484BEA49B8960FCEDED1F3AE8E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Stakeholder engagement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In conducting the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall consult with relevant stakeholders, including—</text> <paragraph id="H9881A5C97F3F459A913C9C6FE356427E"><enum>(1)</enum><text>patients and patient advocacy organizations;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H84DBDC15016E48CD9DFC118E3CE6503B"><enum>(2)</enum><text>licensed reproductive health care providers;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H376F49D1CF2648E5B07BA2D28AC7AB49"><enum>(3)</enum><text>professional medical societies;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HF574BCB6C8D14B7982FB02AFB25C5527"><enum>(4)</enum><text>public health experts;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H7D4673F9AF8F40D6BC334D02AA52051C"><enum>(5)</enum><text>health equity experts representing marginalized communities; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H8E8898EEBC86452B900E1ED420A38E9D"><enum>(6)</enum><text>medical device manufacturers and innovators.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H037F753B5DDF48FD8577E6A85604FDF6"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 24 months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions of the Senate a report that includes—</text> 
<paragraph id="H0779A6E3952C4BCCA6BFE0DE5CAEA35F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the findings of the study under subsection (a); and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HE6CDE0EBF61D4C8A9883DCF9C6BCB193"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any recommendations for administrative or legislative action.</text> </paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HAA107836C5C74404BEA216AA77A47344"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text> <paragraph id="H5CD4DB247C134AF1B42D35CF180CDCAA"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Pain management methods</header><text>The term <term>pain management methods</term> means methods or strategies to prevent, reduce, or manage physical pain associated with a medical procedure.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H8E0BA0E0716D4005AE90E023FF86AB7A"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <term>Secretary</term> means the Secretary of Health and Human Services.</text></paragraph></subsection> </section> </legis-body></bill>
