            <enum>1.</enum>
            <header>Short Title<?xm-replace_text {header}?></header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>U.S.-Greece Defense Cooperation Advancement Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
 </section><section id="H529602736D92475087767507619B6DE0"><enum>2.</enum><header>International Military Education and Training Assistance for Greece</header><subsection id="H719E3F8567884CEBA9E4664236D5AF04"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The President is authorized to provide assistance under chapter 5 of part II of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2347">22 U.S.C. 2347 et seq.</external-xref>; relating to International Military Education and Training (IMET)) to Greece for the following purposes:</text><paragraph id="HF86E1729FB344BD7A01C3070AD37B7C7"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Training of future leaders.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H5DD9DA5214ED4760BCE9C9D0ECD09E06"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Fostering a better understanding of the United States.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HCDADAA07111A40E9BF2A4622DA8A3B12"><enum>(3)</enum><text>Establishing a rapport between the United States Armed Forces and Greece’s military to build partnerships for the future.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H2142214A7492474490194FFF5BB81B92"><enum>(4)</enum><text>Enhancing interoperability and capabilities for joint operations.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H0D55EA5BFE8F4DFFA0E20F6A4091B0A0"><enum>(5)</enum><text>Focusing on professional military education, civilian control of the military, and protection of human rights.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HD81DCC32FAE94B5BB10CF09A934FC462"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There is authorized to be appropriated to $1,800,000 for each of fiscal years 2027 through 2031 to carry out this section.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
