R. 7763</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20260303">March 3, 2026</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001296">Mr. Boyle of Pennsylvania</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="E000296">Mr. Evans of Pennsylvania</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S001205">Ms. Scanlon</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To direct the Secretary of the Interior to restore interpretive and educational exhibits at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HE1DD7F969D3A4C949983767FC1A500FC" style="OLC"><section id="H6A28C51C17364997B4ED3D431EA7232B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protecting American History Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HC3E57DA0BBCA4377957475CEDE8D61AD"><enum>2.</enum><header>Restoration of interpretive exhibits at Independence National Historical Park</header><subsection id="HA6F9D925E6314CAD96B3CFBE3CA88F59"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 15 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall restore any covered exhibits at the Historical Park removed from public display after January 21, 2026, so that such covered exhibits appear as they did at the Historical Park on that date.</text></subsection><subsection id="H43D6E87FB2E347CEBAAE4BDCBB48BCE5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Prohibition on future removal</header><text>The Secretary may not add, remove, destroy, or otherwise alter covered exhibits at the Historical Park without the express authorization of Congress.</text></subsection><subsection id="HED64E6A9E1B04A11943ABFEF62FCEF39"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this Act:</text><paragraph id="H5E5C846891804AAFBA3114216E0597E2"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Covered exhibit</header><text>The term <term>covered exhibit</term> means an interpretive or educational exhibit, sign, plaque, or other display.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H07B927A78DA647BBA3AAF1103963A5EC"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Historical Park</header><text>The term <term>Historical Park</term> means the Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HC51DCA9AD0584DA99C92453FEE30B41B"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <term>Secretary</term> means the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Director of the National Park Service.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
