    Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on 
Education and Workforce, for a period to be subsequently determined by 
the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall 
           within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

 To amend the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility 
  Act of 1996 to require that certain nonprofits comply with E-Verify.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Protect our Ballots Act of 2026''.

SEC. 2. CERTAIN NONPROFITS REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH E-VERIFY.

    Section 402(e) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant 
Responsibility Act of 1996 is amended by adding at the end the 
following:
            ``(4) Certain nonprofits.--Any entity described under 
        section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and 
        exempt from taxation under section 501(a) of such Code, if that 
        entity pays any individual for the provision of personal 
        services for any political purpose or to take an active part in 
        political management or a political campaign, shall elect to 
        participate in the E-Verify program under section 403(a), and 
        shall comply with the terms and conditions of such an 
        election.''.
