R. 7281</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20260130">January 30, 2026</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="C001072">Mr. Carson</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="C001131">Mr. Casar</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000147">Ms. Norton</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="J000288">Mr. Johnson of Georgia</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="O000173">Ms. Omar</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000562">Mr. Lynch</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M000312">Mr. McGovern</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001143">Ms. McCollum</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001229">Mrs. McIver</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000607">Mr. Pocan</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000617">Ms. Pressley</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000193">Mr. Thompson of Mississippi</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000481">Ms. Tlaib</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="W000788">Ms. Williams of Georgia</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require a report on the death of Shireen Abu Akleh.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H7C0FEBDF52894733B598ADCCE29D5875" style="OLC"><section id="HEC0F5644E00A47E6B43C122B961B85E7" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Justice for Shireen Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H5B8986DBF09948FDA7691C256068D811"><enum>2.</enum><header>Report on death of Shireen Abu Akleh</header><subsection id="H6170D49632094381A713B0F629D718EC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Secretary of State, in consultation with the Attorney General, Director of National Intelligence, and Secretary of Defense, shall submit to Congress a report on the death of Shireen Abu Akleh.</text></subsection><subsection id="H39EC134E17824530866C4A000130DCA6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Matters To be included</header><text>The report required by subsection (a) shall include—</text><paragraph id="H3B14670D547A469F86E752B0CDABB525"><enum>(1)</enum><text>an identification of those individuals and entities that carried out, participated in, or were otherwise complicit in, or responsible for the death of Shireen Abu Akleh;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HD97A069154044DDB9FB2B2A91907ECC6"><enum>(2)</enum><text>an identification of any United States defense materials, funds or services that were implicated in the death of Shireen Abu Akleh; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H862EC56023E6451798E6B530033A848A"><enum>(3)</enum><text>as attachments, any unredacted report that may be relevant, including any report conducted by the U.S. Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HF2CD57D2330C4796A430030A7F183B2D"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Form</header><text>The report required by subsection (a) shall be submitted in unclassified form and made available to the public at the same time on the website of the Department of State.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
