A BILL
To amend title 38, United States Code, to establish a program under
which the Secretary of Veterans Affairs provides information regarding
the professional experiences of certain veterans and members of the
Armed Forces to prospective employers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Veterans Career Connection Act''.
SEC. 2. VETERANS TRANSITION TALENT HUB.
Chapter 41 of title 38, United States Code, is amended by
inserting, before section 4112, the following new section 4111 (and
amending the table of sections at the beginning of such chapter
accordingly):
``Sec. 4111. Veterans Transition Talent Hub
``(a) Establishment.--The Secretary shall carry out a program to
provide information regarding an individual described in subsection (b)
to an entity that seeks to employ an individual with skills or
experience possessed by such an individual. Such program shall be
referred to as the `Veterans Transition Talent Hub'.
``(b) Covered Individuals.--An individual described in this
subsection is an individual who--
``(1) elects to participate in the program under this
section; and
``(2) is--
``(A) a veteran; or
``(B) a member of the Armed Forces who is eligible
for preseparation counseling under section 1142 of
title 10.
``(c) Searchable Data.--The Secretary shall allow an entity that
the Secretary determines appropriate to search data regarding
individuals described in subsection (b). Such data includes the
following with regards to such an individual:
``(1) The anticipated date of the discharge or release from
active duty in the Armed Forces.
``(2) The military and civilian skills, certifications, or
credentials.
``(3) Geographic and employment preferences.
``(4) A resume or other profile.
``(d) Consultation.--In carrying out the program under this
section, the Secretary shall seek to consult with the following:
``(1) The Secretary of Defense.
``(2) The Secretary of Labor.
``(3) Employers.
``(4) Veterans service organizations recognized under
section 5902 of this title.
``(5) State workforce agencies.''.
