<section id="HADE2865906294971BC9959D8E677B5E3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Cashless Bail Reporting Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H281439C2116C45578F5E5C1A832125BE"><enum>2.</enum><header>Publication of cashless bail jurisdictions</header> <subsection id="H08754598048B4AA2B64CAF3CCC849F38"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than one year after the date of enactment of this Act, and annually thereafter, the Attorney General shall make publicly available a list of each State and unit of local government that permits the release pending trial of a person charged with a covered offense on personal recognizance or upon execution of an unsecured appearance bond. </text></subsection>
<subsection id="H8CDE2E89507E462F87FF3C20508A3FBE"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Covered offense defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <quote>covered offense</quote> means a criminal offense that the Attorney General determines poses a clear threat to public safety and order, including— </text> <paragraph id="H425BB3F5845F4B76B0EB7F3C0691FF4B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>an offense involving a violent or sexual act, such as murder, rape, sexual assault, carjacking, robbery, burglary, and assault; and </text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H52656D60F85A430EBD17F9D593C9B0B2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>an offense that promotes public disorder, such as looting, vandalism, destruction of property, rioting or inciting to riot, or fleeing from a law enforcement officer.</text></paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body><attestation><attestation-group><attestation-date date="20260514" chamber="House">Passed the House of Representatives May 14, 2026.</attestation-date><attestor display="no">Kevin F.
