<section id="H029DF3D4FAA54703BD3CB816AA91DC43" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Net Metering Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HECD0C23BCC2447679C072CC04CCD17C5"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition of actions to prevent implementation or enforcement of net metering service standards</header> 
<subsection id="H9D69849A5A054C5D8FC8C2309CA4DE92"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text>Notwithstanding any other provision of law, if a State regulatory authority or nonregulated electric utility determines it is appropriate to implement the standard under section 111(d)(11) of the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/2621">16 U.S.C. 2621(d)(11)</external-xref>), no commission, board, or other entity established by Congress may prohibit or otherwise obstruct such implementation or the enforcement of such standard by that State regulatory authority or nonregulated electric utility.</text></subsection> <subsection id="HEADC6A5695684BF89E0754A7A9628264"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the terms <quote>nonregulated electric utility</quote> and <quote>State regulatory authority</quote> have the meanings given those terms in section 3 of the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/2602">16 U.S.C. 2602</external-xref>).</text></subsection> </section>
