and</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H6C9AEF3ABF0C41F4BF1495AB5B4A85AD"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H1AE82B93B45D4B36BAC5D33606BAA610" changed="added" reported-display-style="italic" committee-id="HJU00"><subsection id="H31A8321C8C2646F3BCECC07607326CA1"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Ineligibility</header><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3C6EA461B5C94689BAEC91FFBAB41443"><enum>(1)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Covered offense defined</header><text>In this subsection, the term <term>covered offense</term> means a criminal offense that poses a clear threat to public safety and order, including—</text><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD576BCC5216947B9937C2E1E98F88565"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">an offense involving a violent or sexual act, such as murder, rape, sexual assault, carjacking, robbery, burglary, and assault; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE98AC3AEC9A94B91B6F9238851781E74"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">an offense that promote public disorder, such as looting, vandalism, destruction of property, rioting or inciting to riot, or fleeing from a law enforcement officer.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HF5067E4879AF4BB6A703C30D0BFFCA37"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">With respect to the fiscal year beginning on the first October 1 occurring after the date of enactment of the No Federal Funds for Cashless Bail Act, and each fiscal year thereafter, the Attorney General may not award, renew, or extend a grant under this subpart to a State or unit of local government that has in effect a policy or law that substantially limits cash bail as a potential condition for every individual charged with a covered offense in the State or the area under the jurisdiction of the unit of local government.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date>May 4, 2026</action-date><action-desc>Reported with an amendment, committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union, and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
