To amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to prohibit oil and gas leasing of the Central California Planning Area.

To amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to prohibit oil and gas leasing of the Central California Planning Area.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
This Act may be cited as the “Central Coast of California Conservation Act of 2025”.
SEC. 2. Prohibition on oil and gas leasing of the Central California Planning Area.
Section 8 of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (43 U.S.C. 1337) is amended by adding at the end the following:
“(q) Prohibition on oil and gas leasing of the Central California Planning Area.—Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, the Secretary of the Interior may not issue a lease for the exploration, development, or production of oil or gas in any area of the Central California Planning Area.”.
