To prohibit natural asset companies from entering into any agreement with respect to land in the State of Utah or natural assets on or in land in the State of Utah.
Mr. Kennedy of Utah introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Natural Resources
To prohibit natural asset companies from entering into any agreement with respect to land in the State of Utah or natural assets on or in land in the State of Utah.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. Prohibition of natural asset companies from entering into certain agreements.
(a) Definition of natural asset company.—In this section, the term “natural asset company” means—
(A) holds the rights to the ecological performance of a defined area; and
(B) has the authority to manage the defined area for conservation, restoration, or sustainable management; or
(2) a company or organization that is substantially similar to a corporation described in paragraph (1).
(b) Prohibition.—A natural asset company may not enter into any agreement with respect to—
(1) land in the State of Utah; or
(2) natural assets on or in land in the State of Utah.
