R. 1545</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250224">February 24, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S001230">Mr. Subramanyam</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="N000147">Ms. Norton</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="C001061">Mr. Cleaver</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="J000309">Mr. Jackson of Illinois</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="J000305">Ms. Jacobs</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000551">Mr. Grijalva</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000481">Ms. Tlaib</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="F000110">Mr. Fields</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="W000822">Mrs. Watson Coleman</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000391">Mr. Krishnamoorthi</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="F000462">Ms. Lois Frankel of Florida</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="H001068">Mr. Huffman</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HGO00">Committee on Oversight and Government Reform</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To direct the Comptroller General of the United States to submit a report to Congress on actions taken by the Department of Government Efficiency.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H9E52FE544B0248A3852A66ADB4540174" style="OLC"><section id="H0ABA406FB41F4729B56648F692E61440" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Accountability in Government Efficiency Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H4B10B3E691DB493D9E8456F08314235B" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Report on actions taken by Department of Government Efficiency</header><subsection id="H5DCC45478D9C4A34AE0AC0CD7301BB2A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Report</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Comptroller General of the United States shall prepare a report on the actions taken by the Department of Government Efficiency, as established by Executive Order 14158 (related to establishing and implementing the President’s <quote>Department of Government Efficiency</quote>), and shall include in the report—</text><paragraph id="HD7FD31DFB6F349DA848CA2D4C40881F6"><enum>(1)</enum><text>an analysis of the effects of such actions, including actions resulting in the reduction of the number of employees in the civil service, the termination of Federal programs, and the pausing and restarting of Federal programs, on the long-term financial, public health, and safety interests of the United States; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H5C9326040AED4D2988FAED7ACEB0AB95"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the extent to which the Department of Government Efficiency has carried out such actions in compliance with section 552a of title 5, United States Code (commonly known as the <quote>Privacy Act of 1974</quote>) and chapter 131 of such title.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H80C54D542A3843CBA976304C87F083E4"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Deadline for submission</header><text>The Comptroller General of the United States shall submit the report prepared under subsection (a) to Congress not later than December 31, 2025.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
