<section id="HE73184F0986745D3AECECD5DF19402BA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No HUD Funding for Sanctuary Cities Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H32D18CE9607441409F9FF2CD216FBB04" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Ineligibility of sanctuary jurisdictions</header> 
<subsection id="H6EDE3FC18E6D411A8FEB3547E67024D5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A sanctuary jurisdiction shall be ineligible for any grant funds distributed by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for use in such jurisdiction.</text></subsection> <subsection id="H9761E301710F4C579898D4B9936BC85B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Application</header><text>Subsection (a) shall only apply to grant funds that are distributed on or after the date that is 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H31D53CBE93A04751AD522B0038FEC79B"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Sanctuary jurisdiction defined</header> 
<paragraph id="H979D923F23B04A2689C9F228DBDF980F"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <term>sanctuary jurisdiction</term> means any State or political subdivision of a State that has in effect a statute, ordinance, policy, or practice that prohibits or restricts any government entity or official from—</text> <subparagraph id="H993EB5579AFA460EB05628BB18BD6E96"><enum>(A)</enum><text>sending, receiving, maintaining, or exchanging with any Federal, State, or local government entity information regarding the citizenship or immigration status (lawful or unlawful) of any individual; or</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H400A07F7DE3242A88C0673B08FDEB851"><enum>(B)</enum><text>complying with a request lawfully made by the Department of Homeland Security under section 236 or 287 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1226">8 U.S.C. 1226</external-xref>, 1357) to comply with a detainer for, or notify about the release of, an individual.</text> </subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H8FC069F3C1A0450FAD69D27AF2E452C4"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Consultation</header><text>The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development shall consult with the Secretary of Homeland Security to determine which jurisdictions are a sanctuary jurisdiction.</text> </paragraph> </subsection></section>
