Short title

This Act may be cited as the No Early Release for Carjackers Act of 2023.

Early release exceptions

Section 3624(b)(1) of title 18, United States Code, is amended—(1)by striking year and inserting year,; and(2)by adding at the end the following:(5)A prisoner may not receive credit toward service of the prisoner’s sentence for a crime under section 2119, relating to taking a motor vehicle (commonly referred to as carjacking)..

Applicability

This Act and the amendments made by this Act shall apply with respect to each prisoner in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons on or after the date of enactment of this Act.
