<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 5000</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20240910">September 10, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S346">Mr. Lee</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To prohibit the use of amounts from the Upper Colorado River Basin Fund to implement a certain record of decision, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="id726faed4e5dc449f9d7737877f6a78be" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Prohibition of use of amounts from the Upper Colorado River Basin Fund for certain purposes</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id2586bf75b9f048569dc6be7663c37960"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">No amounts from the Upper Colorado River Basin Fund established by section 5(a) of the Act of April 11, 1956 (commonly known as the <quote>Colorado River Storage Project Act</quote>) (70 Stat. 107, chapter 203; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/620d">43 U.S.C. 620d(a)</external-xref>), shall be used to implement the record of decision entitled the <quote>Record of Decision for the Glen Canyon Dam Long-Term Experimental and Management Plan Final Environmental Impact Statement</quote> and dated December 2016, as supplemented by the record of decision entitled <quote>Supplement to the 2016 Glen Canyon Dam Long-Term Experimental and Management Plan Record of Decision</quote> and dated July 2024, to address the threat of nonnative fish in the Colorado River below Glen Canyon Dam. </text></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idae026c3e12104255bcd43508c0133f28"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Treatment of funds</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any Federal funds made available for the purpose described in subsection (a) shall be nonreimbursable and nonreturnable to the United States. </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
