Short title

This Act may be cited as the Expanding Energy Efficiency for Affordable Housing Act of 2024.

Use of Capital Fund assistance by public housing agencies for energy performance contracts

Section 9(d) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437g(d)) is amended—(1)in paragraph (1)(K), by inserting before and by the following: by entering into energy performance contracts (as defined in paragraph (4)),; and(2)by adding at the end the following:(4)

Definition of energy performance contract

For purposes of this subsection, the term energy performance contract means a contract described in section 990.185(a) of title 24, Code of Federal Regulations, or any successor regulation..
