<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4832</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20240730">July 30, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S416">Mrs. Britt</sponsor> (for herself and <cosponsor name-id="S372">Mrs. Capito</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSCM00">Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To require the Federal Communications Commission to amend the rules of the Commission to include a shark attack as an event for which a wireless emergency alert may be transmitted, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as <quote><short-title>Lulu’s Law</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id8c8bcd38ca0246359ae68e4e1fdfb0b8"><enum>2.</enum><header>Wireless emergency alerts</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idca1b08c0cd924d939ecb44bae1b03936"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Definition</header><text>In this section, the term <term>Alert Message</term> has the meaning given the term in section 10.10(a) of title 47, Code of Federal Regulations, or any successor regulation.</text></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id8210ef392a334c6e8ce32126838305a4"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Requirement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 60 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Federal Communications Commission shall amend part 10 of title 47, Code of Federal Regulations, or any successor regulations, to provide that a shark attack is an event for which an Alert Message may be transmitted under that part (or successor, if applicable).</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
