<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 3834</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20240229">February 29, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S350">Mr. Rubio</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S403">Ms. Sinema</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSVA00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to ensure veterans may obtain a physical copy of a form for reimbursement of certain travel expenses by mail or at medical facilities of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="HB8277BEFE02C4E349528BE3C8999BDED"><section section-type="section-one" id="H336158B1FC164638BBE2AA7DF70BB97D"><enum>1.</enum><header>Requirement for Secretary of Veterans Affairs to make available to veterans physical copies of form for reimbursement of certain travel expenses</header><subsection id="H94F9EF6715C0492598195BBA50F1B5F8"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall prescribe regulations to ensure that—</text><paragraph id="HD75618D272334459A76359C83811685D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>a veteran may, for the purposes of submitting a claim for the reimbursement of expenses for travel under section 111 of title 38, United States Code—</text><subparagraph id="HA3B5B8473E74409F9DD9ED574EF951FC"><enum>(A)</enum><text>obtain a physical copy of the covered form—</text><clause id="HFE0D70B3AEE54B88A9C4EFB976C5EBA7"><enum>(i)</enum><text>by mail, upon the request of such veteran; or</text></clause><clause id="HB9806046C0594E62BC3F74FA3E8CE629"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>at any medical facility of the Department of Veterans Affairs; and</text></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HB6B8340815C24C529AC90AB1EBD8DA0C"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">submit the covered form to any such medical facility in person or by mail; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H8750A4ABCE9142C0BED04A350DDBD4BE"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any such medical facility to which a veteran submits the covered form—</text><subparagraph id="H2300B752083C49BF8167E370B171E673"><enum>(A)</enum><text>evaluates such covered form; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HB78C4A6DD31246CAA368AC31E5AEFAE8"><enum>(B)</enum><text>processes any claim associated with such covered form, if applicable.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H4FE95EB146434207A23B48B02E9F5591"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Covered form defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <term>covered form</term> means Department of Veterans Affairs Form 10–3452 (or any successor document).</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
