<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 3597</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20240117">January 17, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S253">Mr. Durbin</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S411">Mr. Marshall</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSHR00">Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To reauthorize programs relating to oral health promotion and disease prevention.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Promoting Dental Health Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idf3b8e805367d4872a396a5cf26310665"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reauthorization of programs</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 317M of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/247b-14">42 U.S.C. 247b–14</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id3b0d3280bcca44b1922c8cde94fa7b3b"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (d)(2), by striking <quote>2010 through 2014</quote> and inserting <quote>2024 through 2028</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idc5c927fd2419437581c382a3e24c3085"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (f), by striking <quote>2001 through 2005</quote> and inserting <quote>2024 through 2028</quote>.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
