<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 3454</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20231207">December 7, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S411">Mr. Marshall</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S397">Mr. Braun</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S399">Mr. Hawley</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSHR00">Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To prohibit the use of Federal funds to purchase at-home tests for SARS–CoV–2 from certain foreign entities.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No Taxpayer Dollars for Communist China COVID Tests Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id80023CC881B3456F873A76D2152B7D96"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on using Federal funds to purchase certain tests</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no Federal funds may be used to purchase any at-home test for SARS–CoV–2 that is—</text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id5eb27bcd83f541ffb76136bbe1f80a29"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">manufactured, in whole or in part, in the People's Republic of China;</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id743d6bc8c63b433eac70f15b4090e9ff"><enum>(2)</enum><text>imported from the People's Republic of China; or</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id96509e737da846f4abc1b5660e02a4c7"><enum>(3)</enum><text>manufactured by any entity that is a subsidiary of a Chinese company.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
