<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 30</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20230124" legis-day="20230103">January 24 (legislative day, January 3), 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S314">Mr. Tester</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S347">Mr. Moran</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSVA00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To authorize major medical facility projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs for fiscal year 2023, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Fiscal Year 2023 Veterans Affairs Major Medical Facility Authorization Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="idcb2d21116e4e4367b86112650ff0a87d"><enum>2.</enum><header>Authorization of major medical facility projects of Department of Veterans Affairs for fiscal year 2023</header><subsection id="ida55bab5481594ddd9f6d933fc645e608"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary of Veterans Affairs may carry out the following major medical facility projects in fiscal year 2023 at the locations specified and in an amount for each project not to exceed the amount specified for such location:</text><paragraph id="idd5bff41a03e54ed6b701b838d95d6cec"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Construction of a community-based outpatient clinic and national cemetery in Alameda, California, in an amount not to exceed $395,000,000.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idc84908d9cf314e1eb312499a0a3abc58"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Construction of a community living center and renovation of domiciliary and outpatient facilities in Canandaigua, New York, in an amount not to exceed $506,400,000.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id420becf91b5b40ea9d5168f362e8ced5"><enum>(3)</enum><text>Construction of a new health care center in El Paso, Texas, in an amount not to exceed $700,000,000.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id204546739608415f865da39149c437af"><enum>(4)</enum><text>Seismic upgrade and specialty care improvements in Fort Harrison, Montana, in an amount not to exceed $88,600,000.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idec68ff1c1ab3438a92c5dadd6acdb449"><enum>(5)</enum><text>Realignment and closure of the Livermore campus in Livermore, California, in an amount not to exceed $490,000,000.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id6af72b532c7c4f33b3a90186eba7008a"><enum>(6)</enum><text>Construction of a new medical facility in Louisville, Kentucky, in an amount not to exceed $1,013,000,000.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id383077ab49cd48a6a7edaccce1a1d75c"><enum>(7)</enum><text>Seismic retrofit and renovation of buildings 100 and 101 in Portland, Oregon, in an amount not to exceed $523,000,000.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idee122a5a8a1c48ff8b841f043832257c"><enum>(8)</enum><text>Replacement of the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, in an amount not to exceed $223,800,000.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idd627d6b344924556b0827f066adba216"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text>There is authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for fiscal year 2023 or the year in which funds are appropriated for the Construction, Major Projects account, $3,939,800,000 for the projects authorized in subsection (a). </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
