Short title

This Act may be cited as the Nonrestrictive Offshore Wind Act or the NOW Act.

Repeal of offshore wind leasing restrictions

(a)

Limitation on issuance of certain leases or rights-of-Way

Section 50265(b) of Public Law 117–169 (commonly known as the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022) (43 U.S.C. 3006(b)) is amended—(1)by striking paragraph (2);(2)in paragraph (1), by striking this Act in the matter preceding paragraph (1) and all that follows through (1) the Secretary may in paragraph (1) and inserting this Act, the Secretary may;(3)by redesignating subparagraphs (A) and (B) as paragraphs (1) and (2), respectively, and indenting appropriately; and(4)in paragraph (2) (as so redesignated), by redesignating clauses (i) and (ii) as subparagraphs (A) and (B), respectively, and indenting appropriately.(b)

Conforming amendments

Section 50265 of Public Law 117–169 (commonly known as the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022) (43 U.S.C. 3006) is amended—(1)in subsection (a)—(A)by striking paragraph (2); and(B)by redesignating paragraph (3) as paragraph (2); and(2)in subsection (c), by striking paragraphs (1) and (2) of.
