<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 2802</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20230914">September 14, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S348">Mr. Paul</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S346">Mr. Lee</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S420">Mr. Schmitt</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S397">Mr. Braun</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S421">Mr. Vance</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S396">Mrs. Blackburn</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSHR00">Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to remove a prohibition on the use of funds relating to the provision of a dangerous weapon or training in the use of a dangerous weapon.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="id391d213f789b4da283ea14919a8dd6e5" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Educating Responsible Future Hunters Act </short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id4fca68c7727849e4976ed813cbcdde5e" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendment on ESEA funding</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 8526 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/7906">20 U.S.C. 7906</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="ida36981123cbc4d75a8fa065251160e95"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (5), by adding <quote>or</quote> after the semicolon;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id5d6274fc269448e8b55d9ded7b79ccbf"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (6), by striking <quote>; or</quote> and inserting a period; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id4ba143f194814ebf92faa9e2754e7a53"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking paragraph (7). </text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
