<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 2640</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20230727">July 27, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S307">Mr. Brown</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S384">Mr. Tillis</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S343">Mr. Boozman</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 to reauthorize the Fugitive Safe Surrender Program.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Fugitive Safe Surrender Reauthorization Act of 2023</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id25CE925C33F24890ACDCB6E6DD790C81"><enum>2.</enum><header>Fugitive safe surrender program</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 632(c) of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/34/20989">34 U.S.C. 20989(c)</external-xref>) is amended by striking paragraphs (1) through (3) and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id89C0B39051D340B4889E3412D8CA1775"><paragraph id="idB587740515AD44B0B660AE571E59B331"><enum>(1)</enum><text>$10,000,000 for fiscal year 2024;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id7427778F05B2449FAAEDE944FCD9FCD3"><enum>(2)</enum><text>$10,000,000 for fiscal year 2025; </text></paragraph><paragraph id="id360E846D37C149B397CABA93FE31440C"><enum>(3)</enum><text>$10,000,000 for fiscal year 2026; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id88575656BCC94249B1D88B373758592A"><enum>(4)</enum><text>$10,000,000 for fiscal year 2027.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
