Short title

This Act may be cited as the Farm Board Act of 2023.

Board of Directors composition

(a)

In general

Section 505(a)(2)(G) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act (7 U.S.C. 1505(a)(2)(G)) is amended by striking including at least one specialty crop producer. and inserting the following: including at least—(i)1 specialty crop producer;(ii)1 producer that actively engages in livestock production and crop production of agricultural commodities; and(iii)1 underserved producer (as defined in section 508(a)(7)(A))..(b)

Application

The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to appointments to the Board of Directors of the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation under section 505(a)(2)(G) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act (7 U.S.C. 1505(a)(2)(G)) that are—(1)made on or after the date of enactment of this Act; and(2)(A)for a period of service beginning on or after October 1, 2024; or(B)made for the purpose of the October 1, 2024, Board of Directors election (or a subsequent Board of Directors election).
