<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 2330</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20230718">July 18, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S391">Mr. Young</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S402">Ms. Rosen</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S417">Mr. Budd</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S324">Mrs. Shaheen</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSSB00">Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To authorize the Small Business Administration to provide business loans to finance business software or cloud computing services, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Small Business Technological Advancement Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id8be556a82e20413790d61b9c2c249851"><enum>2.</enum><header>Additional uses for Small Business Administration business loans</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 7(a) of the Small Business Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/636">15 U.S.C. 636(a)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id5EC8282AE3924818BA970AB35E3A78F9"><paragraph id="id9a90d645024648dd8ec07990163a516c"><enum>(38)</enum><header>Business software or cloud computing</header><text>The Administration may provide loans under this subsection to finance, in whole or in part, business software or cloud computing services that facilitates business operations, product or service delivery, the processing, payment, or tracking of payroll expenses, human resources, sales and billing functions, or accounting or tracking of supplies, inventory, records and expenses.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
