<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1955</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20230613">June 13, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S346">Mr. Lee</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Central Utah Project Completion Act to authorize expenditures for the conduct of certain water conservation measures in the Great Salt Lake basin, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="id11bf7d74cfd74475ba8f048a732e54a6" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Great Salt Lake Stewardship Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id0b55ed0aa1ef41429bb5a16cb3c94a87"><enum>2.</enum><header>Water conservation measures in the Great Salt Lake basin</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Title II of the Central Utah Project Completion Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/102/575">Public Law 102–575</external-xref>; 106 Stat. 4605) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id7C8798226B514CD49D450D3051FDEA28"><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ideb39eab27581468884e9b02c604ef184"><enum>213.</enum><header>Water conservation measures in the Great Salt Lake basin</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id503a698421b04d1596df9380a4894c99"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary may use any unexpended budget authority provided under subsections (a)(2) and (c) of section 202 for the conduct of water conservation measures within the Great Salt Lake basin in accordance with section 207.</text></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id79d61b7266d54e3db69a364a828b07dc"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Compliance with Definite Plan Report</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any water conservation measure conducted under subsection (a) shall be considered to be compliant with the Definite Plan Report completed under section 205(a).</text></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
