Short title

This Act may be cited as the Dependable Classification of Airports Act.

Treatment of airports reclassified from small to medium hub airports

(a)

In general

Chapter 471 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 47131 the following:

47132.

Treatment of airports reclassified from small to medium hub airports

With respect to the application of law and regulation, the owner or operator of a small hub airport that, in fiscal year 2021 or any succeeding fiscal year, is designated as a medium hub airport, may elect to be treated as a small hub airport for any period of up to 5 consecutive fiscal years, beginning with the fiscal year in which the small hub airport is to be designated as a medium hub airport.
