<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1885</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20230608">June 8, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S385">Ms. Cortez Masto</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To eliminate employment-based visa caps on abused, abandoned, and neglected children eligible for humanitarian status, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="HEB8DBF9F5F0640A3A1CBD1C973D4D426"><section section-type="section-one" id="H1B9A7855C88F481CA281A2B5735BADA6"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protect Vulnerable Immigrant Youth Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H0BE72ACD3DB54C53A0C344EF9D0F0A7F"><enum>2.</enum><header>Eliminating certain employment-based visa caps</header><subsection id="H972488436FA84C818CADD6CD20B3AA27"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Aliens Not Subject to Direct Numerical Limitations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 201(b)(1)(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1151">8 U.S.C. 1151(b)(1)(A)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>subparagraph (A) or (B)</quote> and inserting <quote>subparagraph (A), (B), or (J)</quote>.</text></subsection><subsection id="HEE0A950BF0494729BD9FD4240462BBC5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Preference Allocation for Employment-Based Immigrants</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 203(b)(4) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1153">8 U.S.C. 1153(b)(4)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>subparagraph (A) or (B)</quote> and inserting <quote>subparagraph (A), (B), or (J)</quote>.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
