which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSHR00">Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions</committee-name></action-desc></action><action stage="Reported-in-Senate"><action-date date="20230727">July 27, 2023</action-date><action-desc>Reported by <sponsor name-id="S313">Mr. Sanders</sponsor>, without amendment</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To reauthorize the Special Diabetes Program for Type 1 Diabetes and the Special Diabetes Program for Indians.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Special Diabetes Program Reauthorization Act of 2023</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id2132daa7d92740ac8ada5b7d30609a19"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of programs</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id40e4804afcf543b39bcb35cb628d1164"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Special diabetes programs for type I diabetes</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 330B(b)(2) of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/254c-2">42 U.S.C. 254c–2(b)(2)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ide0112ac8652e4d31bbe632aa471afe03"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C), by striking <quote>; and</quote> and inserting a semicolon;</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id41b9af09123248d192df44991afa9d1b"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (D), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id8855e4e00e974b2d93bdc39093c8ebb3"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idC910F924E48D4EEC8D9379523FB6E881"><subparagraph id="idd1ab83ba8ebe489fb563573899564f9f"><enum>(E)</enum><text>$170,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2024 and 2025, to remain available until expended; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id1a7f98d81b554b8893133e0e9fddd73f"><enum>(F)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">$42,849,315 for the period beginning on October 1, 2025, and ending on December 31, 2025, to remain available until expended.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id422381ad7bc74a6684fe851db12d7465"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Special diabetes program for Indians</header><text>Section 330C(c)(2) of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/254c-3">42 U.S.C. 254c–3(c)(2)</external-xref>) is amended— </text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id744ea7903d55480c8b40316308a2334a"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C), by striking <quote>; and</quote> and inserting a semicolon;</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idc0316297bc344107846c9d2058be467b"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (D), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id7641e204e1974bd6b62e010291683692"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following: </text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idAF69CED0DC194F7B8198693ADEB75DF1"><subparagraph id="id96B5C80AADDC4B5AB7471C5EC2B61E0C"><enum>(E)</enum><text>$170,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2024 and 2025, to remain available until expended;
