<whereas><text>Whereas Washington State is a global leader in the space industry;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas Redmond, Washington, has a rich history of contributions to the space industry starting in 1967, when the first space company broke ground on their site in Redmond;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas Redmond is home to a major developer and manufacturer of chemical and electrical propulsion systems that has contributed to numerous NASA missions;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas vital suppliers for the space industry are located in Redmond, as well as data management and analysis suppliers;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas Redmond leverages its strength in information technology, manufacturing, and aerospace to provide an environment for small businesses in this industry to grow;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas, in the last decade, multiple companies have chosen to locate and expand their satellite manufacturing facilities in Redmond;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas Redmond, as a result, is a global satellite manufacturing hub, manufacturing more satellites than any other city in the world;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas, in March 2023, the City of Redmond issued a proclamation designating the Redmond Space District; and</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas the Redmond Space District creates an ecosystem of innovation, technology, knowledge, and human capital for the space industry: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body style="OLC" id="H8D39863A2D4F44B69162E961D3248B21"> <section id="H0714E5D3EB5B4E4C9A652DB254FCA4CD" display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section"><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the House of Representatives recognizes the growing space industry in the Redmond Space District. </text></section>
