Whereas police officers protect and serve our Nation’s communities; Whereas many brave men and women, deserving of honor, and with the last full measure of devotion, gave their lives in service of the Thin Blue Line;Whereas these fallen heroes deserve the highest respect;Whereas, in 2022, 60 police officers were killed nationwide in the line of duty protecting their respective communities, including a police officer from the State of Louisiana;Whereas, from 2013 to 2022, 25 police officers were killed in the line of duty in the State of Louisiana;Whereas National Police Week is from May 14 until May 20 for 2023; andWhereas National Peace Officers Memorial Day is May 15: Now, therefore, be it

That the House of Representatives honors our Nation’s fallen law enforcement officers for National Police Week.
