R. 8865</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20240627">June 27, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="L000578">Mr. LaMalfa</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="N000189">Mr. Newhouse</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="T000165">Mr. Tiffany</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committees on <committee-name committee-id="HAG00">Agriculture</committee-name>, <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Foreign Affairs</committee-name>, and <committee-name committee-id="HWM00">Ways and Means</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To nullify Executive Order 14072 and prohibit the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior from implementing, administering, or enforcing such Executive Order or any substantially similar executive order.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H5854B30135D64960B0CBDC505DB89652" style="OLC"><section id="H719530D0C58E4FC7A50F0A37E2786435"><enum>1.</enum><header>Nullification of Executive Order 14072</header><subsection id="H420AA571C38D4CDF8BFC760362E51049"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Executive Order 14072 (87 Fed. Reg. 24851) shall have no force or effect. </text></subsection><subsection id="H6C5764A487124920B30B5890A712415C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Prohibition on implementation</header><text>The Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior shall not—</text><paragraph id="H3715D1555C544EBCB451B2D063CAE9B8"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">implement, administer, or enforce any rule or regulation issued for the purpose of carrying out Executive Order 14072 (87 Fed. Reg. 24851) or any substantially similar executive order; or</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HE5E5A97F4FB1414AB8E3FFE2C75BAD41"><enum>(2)</enum><text>develop, finalize, or issue a rule or regulation for the purpose of carrying out Executive Order 14072 or any substantially similar executive order.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HB5934D6B0F594AEC898E660879708037"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Prohibition on taking proposed actions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Agriculture shall not—</text><paragraph id="HED12162547874E86BE367501D53AD60D"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">finalize the environmental impact statement No. 20240110 included in the Forest Service notice entitled <quote>Land Management Plan Direction for Old-Growth Forest Conditions Across the National Forest System</quote> (89 Fed. Reg. 52039 (June 21, 2024)); or</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HEAD7D26F0FA349558AF3048AA74E0C96"><enum>(2)</enum><text>take the proposed actions included in such notice or any substantially similar actions.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
