<section id="HB87B55513715448780D99D5CAF81006E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Do Your Job Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H8AC99DE013E04AE18C0B903D1C9F186F" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reduction in rates of pay for Members of Congress for failure to agree to budget resolution</header> <subsection id="H8F5CDA305A204F15B02D486636225263"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Reduction</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 601(a)(2) of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/4501">2 U.S.C. 4501(2)</external-xref>) is amended to read as follows:</text> 
<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H329D2C07102541F49DADE824638E9665" style="traditional"> 
<paragraph id="HA32DCF9B1F3241A594EF9EC511303C7E" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If, by the first day of a fiscal year, both Houses of Congress have not agreed to a concurrent resolution on the budget pursuant to section 301 of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974 for such fiscal year, the annual rate of pay for each of the positions described in paragraph (1) for pay periods occurring during such fiscal year shall be equal to 90 percent of the annual rate of pay for such position for the most recent pay period preceding such fiscal year.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> <subsection id="H5A4A7893BAC542F6A687128E4FEE1976"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to pay periods occurring after the date of the regularly scheduled general election for Federal office held in November 2024.</text></subsection></section> 
<section id="HC0DDF022BC474C6DA61A798940960A64"><enum>3.</enum><header>Repeal of automatic appropriation of salaries of Members of Congress</header> 
<subsection id="HC891654B4A564268B74CCB466FFEFC35"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Repeal</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effective with respect to each fiscal year beginning on or after the date of the enactment of this Act, section 130(c) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/97/51">Public Law 97–51</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/4502">2 U.S.C. 4502</external-xref>) is repealed.</text></subsection> <subsection id="H55F925E1DC5441B5925FEBD2BF894696"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendment</header><text>Section 601(a)(1) of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/4501">2 U.S.C. 4501(1)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>The annual rate of pay</quote> and inserting <quote>Subject to the availability of appropriations, the annual rate of pay</quote>.</text></subsection></section>
