<section id="HAAC7662E9E5B46458E5B2A278FCB1DEB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Justifiable Use of Money for Peace Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="H45B3D269A3D7446C94703BB661C5D96E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on solicitation of reimbursement</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Notwithstanding subsection (b)(2)(A)(ii) of section 4 of the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2671">22 U.S.C. 2671</external-xref>), during the period of evacuation from Israel as a result of the Hamas terror attacks—</text> 
<paragraph id="H8D0588983180439DAB7D8EC0A147BDAE" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the Secretary of State shall waive any expectation of repayment of any travel expenses incurred by the Department of State on behalf of any United States citizen or lawful permanent resident evacuated from Israel and repatriated to the United States as a result of the Hamas terror attacks;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H2CFEF422FA4F4C25AD0C344F1C6F95EE"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">any promissory note or other obligation to repay an emergency repatriation loan signed by a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States to reimburse the Department of State for travel expenses described in paragraph (1) shall be null and void; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H83F0BB6CC29E476C8AFB1572BD20D31C"><enum>(3)</enum><text>no Federal official or employee may solicit or accept any amount from any individual who is a citizen of the United States or a lawful permanent resident of the United States, whether in the form of a reimbursement or as any other condition of using transportation provided by the United States, to repatriate such individual to the United States.</text></paragraph></section> </legis-body></bill>
