R. 6164</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20231101">November 1, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="O000175">Mr. Ogles</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="T000165">Mr. Tiffany</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To prohibit the Secretary of Homeland Security from granting certain aliens temporary protected status.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H5DFC15FC13364F259E60274F03C8A67E" style="OLC"><section id="H762AA781B60A413385DBDBD8A24AF2B4" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No Temporary Protected Status for Terrorists Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>No TPS for Terrorists Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HD9428651087042ABB9D2F7B23A61B086"><enum>2.</enum><header>Certain aliens ineligible for temporary protected status</header><subsection id="H3669959D3A514E4AA5FE4BF9E6E50559"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Homeland Security may not grant a covered alien temporary protected status in the United States pursuant to section 244 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1254a">8 U.S.C. 1254a</external-xref>).</text></subsection><subsection id="H2195950454A5455FA7DD17F58BD3B85B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Covered alien</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <quote>covered alien</quote> means an alien who is a holder of a passport or other travel document issued by the Palestinian Authority. </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
