R. 5627</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20230921">September 21, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001309">Mr. Burchett</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require a report relating to the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H49EB7E80CF134C6E94CF0F1797E38AA8" style="OLC"><section id="HD74C570711D2423A9EA43CA111CABDD8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Special Presidential Envoy for Climate reporting requirements</header><subsection id="HFF041E7D9A404C01901C295B7A194880"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report on the following:</text><paragraph id="H6B5AA73E348B44EEB7502A74BF16C557"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Budget information detailing expenditures of the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, during fiscal years 2021 and 2022.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H42AC3B9CA4F24FB49CA209EAF9ABE36F"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The number of temporary and full-time employees currently working in the Office of the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, including the names of all such full-time employees.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HE6266A9ECC7146E388326CBE942607D8"><enum>(3)</enum><text>Information on the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate’s foreign travel, including—</text><subparagraph id="H7E480AC1370340CAB70F9ED857D1ADF1"><enum>(A)</enum><text>carbon emissions from air travel, as required by Executive Order 14057; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H6FCBD747FCBE4FC9902324718954A4F4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the dates, attendees, and discussion topics from all meetings with foreign leaders.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H0FB20CD3DD0642BE99AC7A550874A442"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section—</text><paragraph id="HACEE58FA3C5D471692F3AEE2C325AFAC"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the term “appropriate congressional committees” means the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HAD4CA5A5794E4A2080B70202E38F774F"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the term “Office of the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate” means the staff, full-time employees, temporary employees, and contractors, supporting the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
