<section id="HE8BEAE90FA79497984BB0E328D1AA187" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Rural Weather Monitoring Systems Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HEA03C249B9B84D9A9D246A2C62A5B993"><enum>2.</enum><header>Study of rural weather monitoring systems</header> <subsection id="H952A15EB4D094727A0B12ED2B93E17A8"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall submit to the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation in the Senate a study of rural weather monitoring systems.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H4166A47247824A36802BDC85B03B0FEB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Contents</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The study required under subsection (a) shall include information relating to the following:</text> <paragraph id="H29698C6251C549E7A7E2B1C457A27C50"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"> The capacity of current rural weather monitoring systems.</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H9EEC75321CC8480CBF8C0217EE4F0F09"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The geographical differences in availability and effectiveness of rural weather monitoring systems.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H39F4D736765A4F48A3C05769E099BCDB"><enum>(3)</enum><text>The availability of resources for rural areas to produce better weather monitoring systems.</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H4F45E30DD4A847EF81A36C8301F60112"><enum>(4)</enum><text>The number of rural areas affected by unreliable or unavailable accurate rural weather monitoring systems.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H1779BFA2A2E94579929D884298636E13"><enum>(5)</enum><text>The need for updated weather monitoring for rural areas.</text></paragraph>
