R. 4398</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20230630">June 30, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001317">Mr. Brecheen</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="R000103">Mr. Rosendale</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000576">Mr. Grothman</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000596">Ms. Greene of Georgia</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="O000175">Mr. Ogles</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001212">Mr. Moore of Alabama</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001309">Mr. Burchett</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B000825">Mrs. Boebert</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000596">Mrs. Luna</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001211">Mrs. Miller of Illinois</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001316">Mr. Burlison</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001195">Mr. Mooney</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000609">Mr. Palmer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000595">Mr. Good of Virginia</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="C001115">Mr. Cloud</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001224">Mr. Moran</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000190">Mr. Norman</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001302">Mr. Biggs</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S001189">Mr. Austin Scott of Georgia</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HGO00">Committee on Oversight and Accountability</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To prohibit certain Federal activity with respect to the promotion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month and the display of flags representing sexual orientation or gender identity on Federal property or grounds, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H16C61C32EAD34466BADB1C2090E6FDB7" style="OLC"><section id="HDD624C0692A24B3F921B958374801039" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short Title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Patriotism Not Pride Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="HAF234E38F20C4821ADB08FDF9F83DF80"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on certain Federal activity with respect to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month and flags representing sexual orientation or gender identity</header><subsection id="H20BBECA8784A4646AD39A63D8C409104"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Promotion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">No Federal funds may be used by an agency to develop, organize, administer, engage in, promote, or endorse any activity, including any event, initiative, official communication, social media post, educational program, or public campaign, that aims to promote or recognize Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month or any event with a similar theme.</text></subsection><subsection id="HDA60F55AEC5D4CBC99869AB7B22C1E75"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Flags on Federal Property or Grounds</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">No flag that represents sexual orientation or gender identity may be displayed by an agency on Federal property or grounds.</text></subsection><subsection id="HED05E4C74CAC4236B77B84B21058C4D5"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definition of Agency</header><text>In this section, the term <quote>agency</quote> has the meaning given the term in section 551(1) of title 5, United States Code.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
