<official-title display="yes">To amend title 18, United States Code, to expand the definition of school zone, to prohibit the transfer and possession of ghost guns, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="HE087332C52FA4DBDAFC5BBE04E4C776E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Angellyh Yambo Gun Free Zone Expansion Act of 2023</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H2E18FD5BED914E78936D46C5C897699E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Gun Free School Zones</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 921(a) of title 18, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HEA4CF278DD9146B49E947B37537EC7D1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (26)(B), by striking <quote>1,000 feet</quote> and inserting <quote>5,000 feet</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H6FAA09FDA08743D59D0A9D768A8C1543"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (27), by inserting <quote>or an early childhood education program (as such term is defined in section 103 of the Higher Education Act of 1965)</quote> before the period.</text></paragraph></section> 
<section id="H8DD9A7E945CE46DFA9EF1B06095A8B9E"><enum>3.</enum><header>Prohibiting ghost guns</header> 
<subsection id="H9DAF776ADE684D61A360949367967B05"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 922 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block style="USC" id="H6979252F2797414DA8739772ED37F56C" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <subsection id="H0C396B6D63984E6F87EF91ECEF3540C9"><enum>(aa)</enum><header>Ghost gun prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">It shall be unlawful for any person to transfer or possess a ghost gun.</text> </subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </subsection> 
<subsection id="HADC9314BD8E147EB82CFF5942094FD3B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 921(a) of title 18, United States Code, as amended by section 2, is further amended by inserting after paragraph (37) the following:</text> <quoted-block style="USC" id="HF44EA9A6CA1B4D0DAAD4C80713766B1B" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <subsection id="HEA5126D759FB4B8086294ECB1AA0AC1C"><enum>(38)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <quote>ghost gun</quote> means a firearm that lacks a unique serial number engraved or cast on the frame or receiver of the firearm by a licensed manufacturer or licensed importer in accordance with section 923(i) of title 18, United States Code, and includes any combination of parts designed or intended to be assembled, or to be used in converting a device, into a firearm. </text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection></section>
