R. 3513</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20230518">May 18, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="L000599">Mr. Lawler</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HED00">Committee on Education and the Workforce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To extend the availability of funds for Emergency Assistance to Non-Public Schools under the Education Stabilization Fund and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H3FE7DC36FAF24DA79CB0C2097595964F" style="OLC"><section id="HE2B09CF1005E46C690AC2173663F0ECC" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>EANS Extension Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H995596027ECE49AAB9ACC7D385326B05"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extending the availability of EANS funds</header><subsection id="H075061F6ACBD4B26AEE9B540228A74BA"><enum>(a)</enum><header>EANS I</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, any funds reserved under section 312(a)(2) of division M of title III of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/116/260">Public Law 116–260</external-xref>; 134 Stat. 1925) shall remain available through September 30, 2023, and shall be subject to the requirements of section 421(b) of the General Education Provisions Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1225">20 U.S.C. 1225(b)</external-xref>).</text></subsection><subsection id="H9D9F334A396D45888B4064D04A0963D7"><enum>(b)</enum><header>EANS II</header><paragraph id="H5026966D749B41E3B8422856DAAD9B21"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 2002(a) of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/117/2">Public Law 117–2</external-xref>; 135 Stat. 23) is amended by striking <quote>2023</quote> and inserting <quote>2024</quote>.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H4BF506952CD245358AA92EEC262ECDCB"><enum>(2)</enum><header>GEPA</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by paragraph (1) shall be subject to the requirements of section 421(b) of the General Education Provisions Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1225">20 U.S.C. 1225(b)</external-xref>).</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
