<section id="H49E4C8E5993044E6A4CE8DDFE97669F3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protecting our Land Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HE561BF8FBA6C4E858B7BC7810B9B552B" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on purchase of public or private real estate located in the United States by foreign adversaries and state sponsors of terrorism</header> <subsection id="H4D9BCA67015E4EAD889BE1CE8A7FC3E2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the President shall direct the heads of the Federal departments and agencies to promulgate rules and regulations to prohibit the purchase of public or private real estate located in the United States by a foreign adversary, a state sponsor of terrorism, any agent or instrumentality of a foreign adversary or a state sponsor of terrorism, or any person owned or controlled by, or affiliated with, a foreign adversary or a state sponsor of terrorism.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="HBA06A962C7324DF8B747CB44368FF542"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section—</text> <paragraph id="HD8B8E007E09746F6BF0683F3FF704305"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the term <quote>foreign adversary</quote> means any foreign government or foreign nongovernment person engaged in a long-term pattern or serious instances of conduct significantly adverse to the national security of the United States or security and safety of United States persons;</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H0A9B31059A674389BF61F9C9B22D32F0"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the term <quote>state sponsor of terrorism</quote> means a country the government of which the Secretary of State determines has repeatedly provided support for international terrorism pursuant to—</text> <subparagraph id="HAA5865D5ADFB4B01B1F6CAF26764692E"><enum>(A)</enum><text>section 1754(c)(1)(A) of the Export Control Reform Act of 2018 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/4318">50 U.S.C. 4318(c)(1)(A)</external-xref>);</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="H76E4B89A30724CD7857E26BF8D60FCDF"><enum>(B)</enum><text>section 620A of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2371">22 U.S.C. 2371</external-xref>);</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H2EA5F99147184FE4B7F9E544D887D89A"><enum>(C)</enum><text>section 40 of the Arms Export Control Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2780">22 U.S.C. 2780</external-xref>); or</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="H1BF4761E3F984A6788E1973DB1CE9008"><enum>(D)</enum><text>any other provision of law; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H958F6291613547F6921898054F8530C1"><enum>(3)</enum><text>the term “United States” means the several States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the United States Virgin Islands, and any other territory or possession of the United States.</text></paragraph></subsection></section>
