R. 193</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20230109">January 9, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="R000103">Mr. Rosendale</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HED00">Committee on Education and the Workforce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To provide that certain regulations shall have the force and effect of enacted law.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H325ED3092C5843ED94DC6AADAB1E4ECB" style="OLC"><section id="HA3382F0D4D7A4D6A8205D46D9FD5553D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Teach Relevant Apprenticeships to Drive Economic Success Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>TRADES Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H4BBC08FBD05D48A48C7493791E9BEACF"><enum>2.</enum><header>Legal effect</header><subsection id="H1ADA99A3F89B4AC496E68A39071B2787"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The provisions of part 29 of title 29, Code of Federal Regulations, relating to industry-recognized apprenticeship programs, as amended by the final regulations entitled <quote>Apprenticeship Programs, Labor Standards for Registration, Amendment of Regulations</quote> published by the Department of Labor in the Federal Register on March 11, 2020 (85 Fed. Reg. 14294 et seq.) shall have the force and effect of enacted law.</text></subsection><subsection id="H4F0A732B85F44E1DA1DFF0E58D9BE970"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Funding</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Amounts appropriated to carry out the Act of August 16, 1937 (commonly known as the <quote>National Apprenticeship Act</quote>; 50 Stat. 664, chapter 663; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/50">29 U.S.C. 50 et seq.</external-xref>) shall also be made available to carry out the provisions described in subsection (a).</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
