<section id="H1651F4F9B5BF4CF3B2F79B60DE631AB9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Teddy Roosevelt Fair Competition and Public Trust Act of 2023</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HA12DB6F5EDB6403F9759EEC388EE2541"><enum>2.</enum><header>Finding</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Congress finds that the business of providing for profit public baseball games between teams of professional baseball players in a league and between such teams of rival leagues is in, or affects, interstate commerce.</text></section>
<section id="H18B585FCC2CC434A8276D06E62BD6D77"><enum>3.</enum><header>Application of antitrust laws to professional baseball</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The antitrust laws shall apply to the business of providing for profit public baseball games between teams of professional baseball players and to leagues composed of teams of professional baseball players.</text></section> <section id="H1204DAC495C74171B50C0EA076C8C6F9"><enum>4.</enum><header>Definition</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">For purposes of this Act, the term <quote>antitrust laws</quote> has the meaning given it in subsection (a) of the first section of the Clayton Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/12">15 U.S.C. 12(a)</external-xref>), except that such term includes section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/45">15 U.S.C. 45</external-xref>) to the extent that such section 5 relates to unfair methods of competition.</text></section>
<section id="H833192CB0CC04C9A99FB94D57F0B957D"><enum>5.</enum><header>Application of section 3</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 3 shall not apply with respect to conduct occurring before the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></section> </legis-body></bill>
