Short title

This Act may be cited as the Emergency Vehicles Responsiveness Act of 2024.

Exempting diesel-fueled emergency vehicles from certain air pollution requirements

Section 203 of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7522) is amended by adding at the end the following:(c)

Exemption for diesel-Fueled emergency vehicles

(1)

Exemption

Any diesel-fueled emergency vehicle or diesel-fueled emergency vehicle engine is deemed to be exempt from subsection (a)(1).(2)

Definition

In this subsection, the term emergency vehicle means a vehicle designed to be used under emergency conditions—(A)to transport personnel and equipment; and(B)to support the suppression of fires and mitigation of other hazardous situations..
