RES. 60</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20230427">April 27, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="D000623">Mr. DeSaulnier</sponsor> submitted the following joint resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>JOINT RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to require the United States and the States to jointly ensure a high-quality education to all persons within the United States.</official-title></form><resolution-body style="traditional" id="H08E7D4E2475E4D84A82F9CA82A540FAC"><section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="H6FD30069E2634E70B845C593D3E9B85C"><enum/><text>That the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years after the date of its submission for ratification:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H7FE96A23D6964CD49ECC5BE7F01462DA" style="constitutional-amendment"><constitution-article id="HA231936CB48048419357677D0DC69C59"><enum> —</enum><section id="H4F7B680350F64DFCA9D24821B602B302" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The United States, the States, Indian Tribes, and territories shall jointly ensure a high-quality education to all persons within the United States.</text></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HAA6C675A5C9240608F7517C9C6D9B4B4" section-type="section-one"><enum>2.</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Congress shall have power to enforce and implement this article by appropriate legislation.</text></section></constitution-article><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></resolution-body></resolution>
